The UPS IEC C14 to Universal Female Adapter connects everyday plugs to a UPS output socket. One end carries an IEC C14 male connector. The other end offers a universal female socket. As a result, a standard Kenyan 3-pin plug fits directly into a UPS outlet — no separate power cable required.

Most UPS units sold in Kenya, including APC, Mecer, and Vertiv models, provide IEC C13 output sockets. However, routers, decoders, monitors, and CCTV power supplies ship with regular wall plugs. This adapter bridges that gap instantly. Simply push it into the UPS socket and plug your device in.

Universal Socket Compatibility

The female side of the IEC C14 to Universal Female Adapter accepts multiple plug standards. Therefore, one adapter serves devices from different markets.

  • UK Type G (BS 1363) — the standard 3-pin plug used across Kenya
  • EU Type C/E/F — common on imported routers and power bricks
  • US Type A/B — flat-pin plugs on some electronics
  • AU Type I — angled-pin plugs

In short, whatever plug your device carries, it connects to your UPS through this single adapter. Note that the large 16A South African round-pin plug does not fit.

Electrical Ratings and Build

The adapter is rated for 110V–250V AC, so it matches Kenya Power’s 240V mains supply without issue. Current handling reaches 10A–15A, with a maximum load of 2,500W. Consequently, it comfortably powers routers, NVRs, desktop computers, monitors, and point-of-sale equipment through a UPS.

The housing uses flame-retardant nylon with a 94-V0 flammability rating. Inside, pure copper contact terminals resist corrosion and maintain a firm grip over repeated use. Furthermore, the one-piece moulded body has no cable to fray, which removes a common failure point in backup power setups.

Importantly, the IEC C14 to Universal Female Adapter passes power through without changing it. It does not convert voltage. Always confirm your device supports 240V before connecting.

Compact, Cable-Free Design

Unlike an extension lead, this adapter adds no cable clutter behind your desk or inside your server cabinet. It plugs straight into the UPS, PDU, or C13 extension board. Moreover, its compact body sits flush against the socket bank, so neighbouring outlets on the UPS remain usable.

Who Is This Best Suited For

  • Home and office UPS owners — the universal socket accepts the UK Type G plugs used in Kenya, so Wi-Fi routers and decoders run on battery backup without buying new IEC cables.
  • CCTV installers — NVRs and camera power supplies with wall plugs connect directly to a UPS’s C13 outlets; the 10A–15A rating covers typical surveillance loads with headroom.
  • IT support teams and server room staff — the C14 male end fits PDU and UPS sockets in cabinets, letting mixed-plug equipment share one power distribution unit.
  • Businesses running POS systems — tills, receipt printers, and monitors with standard plugs stay powered through blackouts via the UPS, protected by the 2,500W capacity.
  • Users of imported electronics — EU and US plugs on imported devices fit the universal socket, which removes the need for a separate travel adapter on backed-up power.
