The Vention HDMI-A to DisplayPort Cable is a 1.5-metre active adapter cable that converts an HDMI output signal to a DisplayPort input. It’s designed for a specific but common scenario: connecting a device with an HDMI output — such as a games console, media player, Blu-ray player, or older laptop — to a monitor that only accepts DisplayPort input. This situation arises more often than expected, particularly as DisplayPort-only gaming monitors become increasingly common while source devices continue to ship with HDMI as their primary video output.
